10:22PM - ROCKET (maybe)

So, here is the story. My mom bought me this book, October Sky, and it is about rockets. So being who I am I have to go and build a rocket myself. I went to work. My first rocket was a success. My most recent rocket I built completely from scratch, motor and all. I put hours in to building the 4 inch body and the plywood fins, it was a beautiful peice of work if I do say so myself. So there it stood on the launch pad in all its glory. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story...

9:45AM - Geo Cashing, THE ADVENTURE

This story starts when a good friend, Jen Seltz, of mine introduced me to this "thing" call geocashing. Basically geocashing is using a GPS to find cashes or in other words random hidden boxes with stuff in side. It really is super fun. The adventure starts when I bring geocashing back with me to Calvin Crest. Brian Richardson (b-rich) and I decide to go out to look for a cash that was said to be just under 4 miles away. Rather than taking the road we knew existed we decided to bushwhack it and go straight through to forest. We soon found that 4 miles as the crow flies is much further when you walk up and down ridges and through groves of manzanita. To say the least we almost died. Ok not really but we could not get a reading with the GPS because of the dense trees and our legs were barely supporting us. B-rich and I summated the face of the ridge and found the geocash. Every other person on the logbook had been there between June and September not the middle of winter without a car in the forest lost. We took the road back to save time. One the way we ran out of water and ate or last granola bar. Our GPS was low on batteries and we had no idea what snow covered road this was. It was about this time that the hallucinations set in. We both decided that the stream we crossed was really a might river larger than ever the widest part of the Mississippi. A giant sequoia had fallen to make a treacherous bridge. Down in the river were squirrels that were swimming around and they were also rabid. They started to chase us and it was so cold that their wet tails turned into ice blocks. Then the squirrels sat on their own tails and iceblocked down the hills to catch us. They bit off one my toes and one of Brian’s toes well we were still running. Then the most amazing thing happened, we came to a wonderful meadow and yet another road neither of us had ever heard of "sivils ranch". It was a wonderful road that took us to safety away from the squirrels. It took us to a whole other world. B-rich and I were no longer tired and sore but refreshed. The weather was far better then cold mountains. We both had our chacos on and frizbees in our hands. We meet our wives and in a few years were married. We lived there on sivils ranch for some time and made friends with the rabid squirrels, only after taking two of their toes to pay them back. I cannot tell you much more of this world that we discovered, it is our secret. When we returned to the road to camp we imagined someone picking us up in his or her car with hot food for us to eat. It just so happened. Tyler Davis stopped in his jeep and gave us a lift to camp. He also had an extra large pizza that would go to waste unless two noble selfless gentlemen sacrificed themselves and ate a few pieces. So b-rich and I ate like no one has ever eaten before. That is the end of this amazing geocashing story.

9:42PM - I WILL TRY

For sometime now people have been giving me somewhat negative comments about my first journal entry. I will admit that my attitude has been lame, and here I am now trying to fix it. Let me write about my life not just post pictures here and there.

GEOCACHING!!!!!!!
Well back home my friend Jen Seltz took me out to go geocaching. If you are not sure what that is let me know and I might be able to help. Let me sum it up here, Brian and I hiked for 6 1/2hours with rabid swimming squirrels with ice block tales chasing us. The hike was said to be just over 3 miles but it turned out to be more like 10 miles. By the end Brian and I where so tired and dehydrated that we started to make up this crazy imaginary world. That is where the swimming squirrels came into play. Anyway, if you wish to hear the whole story in full comment and let me know.

As I might have mentioned Andrew, Amanda and myself have started a rocket project. Brian has become our photagrapher as well. The first part of this endever is the construction of our rocket motor. After being supplied with Potasium Nitrate by Amanda we begain our work. We used the ranch house kitchen as our lab/coustruction site. So anyway here are some picturesfire

10:15PM - Ya know...

The construction of my newest rocket will begin tomorrow. Andrew and Amanda are also on the build team at this point. I am not sure Oakhurst has the building supplies for this NASA quality rocket, a trip to Fresno might be in order. In all honesty our rocket is mostly just PVC pipe, but that won't stop it from being amazing. This is no water rocket (no shame intended to the "Auk") this is the real thing. For all those that care I will do my best to update you all on the progress and eventually the launch date of this rocket. I would love you all to comment and suggest names for this new line of rockets. (Brian Miller, your name suggestion is at the top right now)

12:00AM - My getto Mini Van (Josephine)

My Plymouth Voyager minivan was originally purchased by my grandfather new in 1989. It was a faithful and really beauty on the road, with its fake wood paneling that came stock on the LE (luxury edition). The time came for my grandfather to passed the might van on to my father. At which point the rear seat was promptly removed and the van became my fathers work truck/van. Well still under my fathers care the van, Josephine, was stolen 2 times and ten-disc changer, amp, and CD player were also stolen on 2 other separate occasions. The van lived on. Again the time came for the van to be passed on. I was given the great gift of the 1989 Plymouth minivan when I move out to San Luis Obispo. Well there in SLO, I took advantage of the vans amazing gas mileage and sleek aerodynamics as a pizza deliveryman. Many-a-mile were put on that van without the slightest problem. Well under my care the van was stolen for the 3rd time. Now at Calvin Crest my amazing van is an off road machine. Braving mud and snow, trips to Fresno dome, and iron lakes, doing 0-60 in short 13 seconds of pure acceleration. Were Jeeps failed my van prevailed. Some day I will pass on the legend to my son and the journey will continue. Now let me explain the pictures. After being stolen for the 3rd time the ignition never really worked again so now I start my van with a fork. The rear window is taped in for safety’s sake. The sliding door fell off when Brian Richardson tried a little to hard to close it. The horn is honked by connecting two wires. The rear door is held open with a pole I found in the dumpster. The rear seat is no longer. Gas tank door is open forever. You get the idea
